Good copy starts with understanding the audience, the problem, the moment, and the context. That’s what this role is built around. As our Copywriter, you’ll shape the messages that guide people through decisions: ads, landing pages, scripts, and short pieces that influence what happens next. You’ll work closely with strategists, media buyers, designers, and editors across time zones, using research and performance patterns to inform your choices.
This is a role for someone who writes with intention. Someone who can switch tones, simplify ideas, and respect both the reader and the data.
What You’ll Do
- Write clear, persuasive copy for ads across Meta, Google, YouTube, and other channels.
- Shape landing page messaging that guides users easily from interest to action.
- Draft scripts for short-form content, UGC-style videos, and light VSL work.
- Support email sequences and nurture messaging when needed.
- Use performance data and patterns to refine your writing.
- Bring research forward — student insights, market cues, tone signals, competitor angles.
- Work closely with strategists and creative teams to align messaging across platforms.
- Adjust tone styles based on brand, audience, and awareness level.
- Use AI tools as part of your workflow, while still being able to write fully from scratch when needed.
- Communicate clearly and consistently in a remote, async environment.
Who This Role Fits
- You’re adaptable with your tone and can switch styles without losing clarity.
- You adjust your writing to match the reader, not your own voice.
- You know how to keep things simple, even when the topic is complex.
- Your writing process always starts with research first.
- You look for patterns in student behaviour, audience psychology, and platform data.
- You write from what you learn and not from personal preference.
- You use AI tools to speed up your thinking, not to replace it. You know when to lean on prompts and when to take over manually.
- You collaborate well across time zones and communicate clearly.
- You document your thinking so others can build on it.
- You work smoothly with strategists, media buyers, and designers, even asynchronously.
Must-haves Skills & Experience
- You have a degree in a writing-adjacent field — communications, journalism, marketing, psychology, or something similar.
- A portfolio showing clear, effective direct-response style writing
- Experience writing ad copy for Meta, Google, or YouTube
- Ability to simplify complex ideas without dumbing them down
- Comfortable using performance data to guide revisions
- Familiarity with landing page structure and messaging flow
- Able to write scripts for short-form videos
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously
Nice-To-Have Skills
- Experience with education, coaching, or online course brands
- Experience writing for UGC creators or remix-style short-form content
- Familiarity with email sequences, nurture flows, or long-form content
- Understanding of how creative and media teams operate
