Startup guide: Google Webmaster Tools?

When you start a new company you always need to think about how you are going to reach your dream customers. You can go for a paid advertising approach, an organic approach or both. At Orion, we think that a mix between these two works best.

What are Google Webmaster Tools and how can you benefit from it?

When SEO is important for you and your company it is wise to read up on the free tools that Google provides. Most companies focus their SEO efforts on Google as they are the undisputed market leader in search and the best thing you can do in this case is to make them happy by using their tools and providing them with useful information regarding your website.

The Google technology behind the tools is great, and in most cases a complete solution, but even the best tools in the world need a little push in the right direction.

The Google Webmaster Tools is a tool that Google provides for free and it basically tells you what the search engine sees when they visit your website. It will give you a basic overview of the keywords used when people reach your website, the overall performance of your website on desktop and mobile, which sites are linking to you and which links you have internally.

It will give you a quick insight on the pages that give errors and the pages that are visible in the engine. Certain pages with information that should not be shared with everyone will be visible here and we can choose to hide them for the engines. We always try to have little to zero errors on the website and only have pages visible that our visitors should be able to see.
